Sony Walkman NW-S205F

on Saturday, January 27, 2007

It's not an iPod alternatife. It's a sony. And there is difference

I have seen enough copycats to last a lifetime- everyone will say their are different from the rest, butyou just cant help and notice the iPod-ish colours,iPod-inspired designs and so on and so forth

I am glad that absolutely nothing on Sony NW-S2055F Walkman, also know as the S2 Sports Walkman MP3 players, has anything that is even close to the 'i' bandwagon, and it looks bloody good too! What is not refreshing though,is Sony's predilection with model codes instead of just names.Just give us names it easier to remember.

back to the Sony Sport Walkman-its unique sylindrical shape and somewhat odd placement of control buttons may give an initial impression of user-unfreindliness and a maze of nightmarish navigation but, spend some time fidding with the contraption and it's actually very easy to use.A little bit of consultation with the owner's manual may be called for,no need for the cover to cover thing.

it comes with a calorie counter, pedometer (if your only form of exercise is walking from your room to the dinning table, apedometer senses your body motion and counts your footsteps, converting the sum into distance by knowing the length of your usual stride),stopwatch and FM tuner in case you get tired of listening to your pathetic collection of digital tracks, not that there's a big chance of that happening since the this walkman pack 2GB of storage space within its really diminutive dimensions.

Bundled with an arm-strap and a pair or really snug but comfortable earphones,it really is the best companion for exercising. To give you an idea how much I enjoy it,Iam considering increasing my running distance

You can use the bundle software to create playlists,or simply drag and drop files into the player. It;s also immensely quick to recharge - 3 minutes of charging will give you three hours of playback time! There is is also a Shuffle Shake Function- just shake the rurable,aluminium-construction-and-water resistant player three times to turn the shuffle feature on or off

Soundis good enough for me,even by my pick standards.I left all settings as a default and at that level,I would;ve preferred a little more bass bias.Radio reception is consistent but becomes very sensitive to poor signal when indoors. But what would rather listen to-you own favourute tracks or the annoying verbal diarrhoea of today's deejays in addition to ads that play longer than a song?

Dopod 595,A well Design and Superb phone but Lack of WiFi features

For those of you who cringe over the brand name Dopod, you should thik again, when you find out who they really are.Dopod is actually owned by Taiwanese gaint HTC the major powerhouse when it comes to manufacturing Pocket PCs and smartphones.

What I really interested in was the total functionality 959.It still pretty slim with an absolutely gorgeous 240 x 320pixel screen..Under the hood you will find a respectable Samsung 300MHz ARM processor with 64 MB RAM and 128MB ROM,along with a 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluethooth functionality.Sadly it was missing WiFi features.

The user will have no option except to realy solely on the 3G networks to browse the internet or download e -mail,which does ultimately put adent in the wallet.,But the camera 1.3 megapixels,it still pretty good, picture a shrap, crisp and clear. The battery was also impressive as it can easy last for 2 days on normal usage;though it will drop if it run on 3G networks.

In conclusions the Dopod 959 really does grow on you,if you give it a chance. The advantages of Dopo 959 are that it is feature packed with a lot of third party applications. The only real disadvantage is the lack of WiFi funcionality

  • Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Smart Phone edition
  • 2.2" QVGA resolution ( 240 x 320) TFT LCD . 65K colour
  • GSM Tri Band ( 900/1800/1900) w/GPRS & EDGE +WCDMA (UMTS)
  • Primary 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera
  • Secondary: 0.1 megapixelCMOS camera
  • Samsung 300 MHz
  • ROM 128MB/RAM 64MB9persistent storage)
  • Weight: 115 g w/baterry
  • Dimensions: 112.4 x 49 x 14.8 mm
  • Price I think around USD 600 usd above

Latest MP3 players are smaller, cheaper, better

Hi today I brought to you the latest MP3 players view from USATODAY.com.I think the news actually a lot of information about the latest mp3 players.so happy reading to all of you

Where was all this stuff when I was 15?" muses dedicated MP3 junkie Mike Lazzo.

When he's not scheduling or watching TV 'toons, Lazzo, the programming chief at the Cartoon Network, is downloading music onto his Apple iPod. He calls it the "most liberating" tool he's used.

Small MP3 players have come a long way since 1998, when they were first launched as alternatives to tapes and portable CD players. While earlier models held up to only two hours of music, new units from Apple, Creative Labs, Archos and Rio can hold as many as 4,000 songs. Prices and sizes have shrunk, capacity quadrupled.

Take Creative: Last year, it was selling its Nomad Jukebox with 6 gigabytes of space for $249. It was the size of a large portable CD player. It weighed 15.2 ounces.

Just out now is the $299 (with rebate) 20 GB Nomad Jukebox Zen, weighing 9.5 ounces. The Apple iPod, $399 a year ago for a 5 GB model, is now $299.

Leonard Armato switched to an iPod earlier this year, after suffering through workout tapes that often jammed. The switch "revolutionized my routine," says Armato, 48, of Los Angeles, the commissioner of the Association of Volleyball Professionals. "It's great for workouts because digital music doesn't skip, and my entire music library is strapped to my body."

While Creative boasts that Zen is the "smallest USB and 1394 hard-drive MP3 player," it justifies the claim because iPods work with only 1394, known as FireWire, to transfer songs from the computer. Most PC users employ USB.

The iPod is the smallest hard drive unit around; Apple has access to minuscule hard drives from Toshiba, drives competitors haven't been able to get. The iPod came out last November, with rave reviews for its design, functionality and size. Apple has dominated the MP3 player market this year. The iPod is the No. 1 unit, with a 15% market share, says NPD Intelect.

Because competitors couldn't get smaller, they responded with units that were larger and had more memory. This year, Creative used fewer and smaller buttons, a slim internal battery and tinier and more integrated memory chips to get within an inch of the iPod.

To get music onto the MP3 players, units come with software that converts CDs into MP3 files (known as "ripping"). You then add the MP3s with a few clicks of the mouse, similar to putting a bunch of files onto a homemade CD.

"I used to carry a separate case with 50 or more CDs when I traveled," says Todd Gray, an art professor at California State University-Long Beach. "Now, I just take my Nomad Jukebox with me and enjoy my tunes with no extra luggage. It's a dream."

The small MP3 players with flash memory still sell, and because they're smaller and cheaper, many people prefer them for jogging and cycling. A Rio 800, $299 a year ago, is $160. RCA just introduced the Lyra RD 1080 ($120), its smallest ever, at about 21/2 inches square.

"People always want smaller," says RCA's Mark Redmond. "The only way we could get smaller is to eliminate the display, which we haven't done because we still believe in the consumer being able to view what they're listening to."

Creative did that with finger-size MuVo, the smallest ever, which fits on key chains and weighs 1 ounce. Both the RCA and Creative units fit two hours of MP3s. Some critics have knocked Creative for eliminating the readout screen. Creative President Craig McHugh isn't looking back. "You don't want to look at an LCD while you jog. They want something that fits in the pocket."

More review iPhone Apple

on Monday, January 22, 2007

8GB of storage; Very large display, multi-touch screen, the Apple phone, named iPhone, is a bit of everything: Partly PDA phone, partly an Internet tablet; Partly a personal computer. The iPhone...:
Has a glossy glass surface fully occupied by the display.
No keypad and hardly a button: Everything is controlled by touch screen without a stylus, just your fingers.
It even detects and ignores unintended touches
It finds out when you flip it horizontally and adapts the display accordingly
It has WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0
Push-email, either IMAP or POP3
A special version of Google Maps
And of course, iTunes
Apple says they filed for more than 200 patents related to the iPhone. Other cell phone manufacturers must be scratching their head on how to beat that! Cingular will start offering the iPhone in June. It will sell in two versions: 4GB for $500 and 8GB for $600.
Fasten your seat belts. I believe it will be a hit. And Wall Street thinks so too. According to TheStreet.com, Apple shares surged 7% immediately following the announcement and are still fying high. Apple believes so much in its new phone (and other devices, of course) that they just announced they will be changing their name from Apple Computer to just Apple Inc, which tells a lot on the direction they are taking.

Nokia 5500 Sport,The Latest Nokia Phone Review

on Thursday, January 18, 2007

Hi,today I want to share with all of you about nokia phone.Actually I used nokia 6600 for a 3 years. In my country ( Malaysia) nowday the nokia phone is the most popular phone.Everone from the primary school pupil until the oldest use the nokia phone.
Today let us preview the latest nokia phone-Nokia 5500 Sport. After this I will sharing with another preview the latest nokia phone model.Hopefully it will be help you before you get one.Let see...

The Nokia 5500-the sporty looking smartphone has qualities that will bring delight to the the user's eyes. That is because it has a very sleek body, can comfortably fit into one's palm, the keypad is well situated, the display is fairly compact considering the placement of the keypad as well. To add on to its reputation, the Nokia 5500 is armed with splash and dust resistant shell, ergonomic stainless steel casing and rubber grips. A 5-way navigational key has been fixed just below the display that serves to organize three dedicated modes namely a phone mode, music mode and the sports mode. The phone comprises of an unusual set of 3 applications with the assistance of a pedometer namely-Quick start, Diary and Tests. These help you keep a track of your training sessions. They let you know the number of steps or strides you take and thereby record information about your training sessions with the help of an accurately working 3D sensor.

Dimensions & Weight

The Nokia 5500 measures 107 x 45 x 18mm, 77cc thereby weighing 103g. Not bad, considering that most of the smartphones are bulky and heavy. But Nokia 5500 is an exception. It is regarded to be a light-weighted smartphone in comparison with the other smartphones invented by Nokia.

Display
The display resolutes 208 x 208 pixels and supports upto 262 K colours on the TFT screen. The sharpness of the image is satisfactory though it cannot compete with the display qualities of the handsets like Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson. When the menu view is switched to grid listings, it displays only three rows of icons. This obviously makes it inconvenient for the user to keep scrolling quite frequently.

Ringtones

The Nokia 5500 supports polyphonic and MP3 ringtones that are downloadable with vibration alert.

Memory

The handset slots a microSD memory card which has 64 MB memory capacity. The memory capacity of the microSD card may vary depending on the country you live in. The phone unfortunately does not support hotswap slot. The memory card slot is situated under the battery. I must let you know, that microSD cards is a comparatively new technology, so these cards are expensive than the other memory cards such as MMC and RS-MMC.

Data Transfer

The phone supports GPRS class 10 with EDGE support. The users may surf through the net with the help of built-in browsers that supports WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML encoding. The phone comprises of three of the most commonly utilized data transfer ports namely, the Bluetooth (version 2.0), the infrared (IrDA port) and the USB (version 2.0, Pop-Port).

Camera

The phone serves with a 2 megapixel camera which has an image resolution of 1600x1200 pixels, 1152x864 and 640x480 pixels respective of the selected settings. The pictures can be clicked in standard mode, night mode, self timer mode, and series of photos. White balance can be setup by three options - Sunny, Incandescent, Fluorescent. Colour settings / SFX are standard- Sepia, Black&White, and Negative. I thought, a feature such as Autofocus(like the one found in Sony Ericsson's K750i) would have made this phone a hot seller. The camera does not have the support a LED flash. Since you can scale the photo in the built-in editor, and later on save it, there is no need to use the zoom facilty. The quality will be higher. The video recording result is average. The only available resolutions are 176x144 and 128x96 pixels at 15 frames per second. The recording supports 3GP format. Sound can be disabled if wanted.

Battery

According to the manufacturers, the 860 mAh is capable BL-5B functions from 2 to 4 hours of talk time and for 150-270 hours in standby mode.

Other Features

The Nokia 5500 supports Symbian Series 60 Operating system with the usual messaging features that includes SMS, MMS, Email, etc. The phone is available in

two colours- black and grey. It enables the user to enjoy the text to speech facility. There are services like Push-to-talk (PTT), Java MIDP 2.0, Stereo FM radio, MP3/AAC/MPEG4 player, Flashlight, T9 for enhanced messaging, Voice command/memo. PIM features that include the usual applications like calendar, to-do list, Integrated handsfree.

Positive aspects

Compact body.

Splash and dust resistant shell.

Ergonomic stainless steel casing and rubber grips.

Comparatively lighter than the other smartphones.

Pedometer applications.

262 K TFT colour display.

Image sharpness.

Negative aspects

Its first impression will not prove that it is a smartphone.

It is very prone to finger prints.

No Hotswap memory slot.

Low resolution menu view resulting into unnecessarily scrolling.

No LED flash.

208 x 208 resolution wallpapers are hard to find.

Conclusion
Overall the 5500 is a very average looking phone, in spite of having a sleek body and sporty looks. A suitable phone for youngsters mainly because of the looks it carries, the high end camera and the 262k coloured display.

Ok guys, may be it a along preview for you,I will back with alot gadget that I think it cool gadget for me.I really hope you enjoy it.

Skinniest TVs In The World

Sony's snapped out some prototype TVs at CES, the like of which you'll never have seen before.

They're wafer thin, because they use new OLED technology, and give brilliant quality images as well as looking perfect from every angle.

Sony says its not ready to start selling the displays yet, but they're definitely the future of home entertainment.

Despite their size the screens pack in full HD resolutions and pictures look jaw droppingly rich. That's because Sony's squeezed a million-to-one contrast ratio out of their achingly beautiful frames, and even created a big screen 40-inch version.

iPod Gets Extreme!

Take your 'Pod for a rough ride and let it live to tell the tale with Belkin's super-tough wireless controller.

It's ideal for extreme sports types, securing a wireless remote to your arm so you can leave the player in a backpack or pocket.

Dubbed the SportCommand, its waterproof housing makes it perfect for outdoor activities like snowboarding, mountain biking, and hiking.

Belkin says it'll hit the US in November, and follow around the rest of the world shortly after. In the meantime, we'd keep iPod off the slopes if you can help it.

The Coolest Baby Monitor

on Saturday, January 13, 2007

Techwall Electronics manufactures this enhanced baby monitor equipped with a audio and video monitoring that allows the parents to watch/hear their kid. I love the colorful design and the camera is well integrated in the device, giving it a fun cartoon character look. Most baby monitors do not have a camera and the one with it have a boring design in general. It is already distributed in Europe and Techwall Electronics is looking for a distributor for the US. ok guys, you have to get this!

Ericsson Unveils the First Multi-Functional Communicator Platform

on Thursday, January 11, 2007

At present, just a concept study. Ericsson is using this device as a prototype for the continuing development of new applications. Look for a commercially available example from Ericsson in the next 12 to 18 months.

Details: Mobile telecommunications giant Ericsson unveiled the world's first true multi-functional communicator platform at this year's CeBIT 2000 Show in Hannover, Germany. Coined as a first-generation integrated mobile information device, it combines Internet browsing, messaging, imaging, mobile telephony, personal information management, and location-based applications and services.

The Communicator is configured to handle the latest mobile communications protocols, HSCSD (High Speed Circuit Switched Data) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Services), along with triple-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) - which makes the device worldwide capable. Internet access is via either a WAP or HTML browser.

Equipped with both built-in Bluetooth™ and GPS chips, the device employs Bluetooth™ technology to connect wirelessly to a myriad of similarly configured appliances (like other phones, your PC, or the store you are standing in?!), while the GPS interface allows the unit to provide and receive information based upon geo-coordinates - to comply with regulations so that an emergency crew can find you.

An intuitive color touch screen allows for easy navigation, pen-input and handwriting recognition.

Palm and QUALCOMM - watch out!

Comparing The Playstation 3, Xbox 360, And Nintendo WII

on Sunday, January 07, 2007

Hi,today I want to share with all of you about XBox 360,Playstation 3 and Nintendo WIII.Actually my kids now always playing Playstation 2( I will buy playstation 3,but for asian market the price still higher!)

Let the console wars begin again.

Price

The PS3 has two configurations much like the Xbox 360. The PS3 comes in a $499 version that comes with a 20 GB hard drive and a $599 version that comes with a 60 GB hard drive; Wi-Fi; and memory stick, SD, and Compact Flash slots.

The Xbox 360 has two configurations. It comes in a $299 core version and a $399 version that comes with a 20GB hard drive.

The Nintendo Wii is the cheapest of the bunch with just one configuration that costs $250.

Processing Power

The Playstation 3 comes with its Cell processor. It’s a PowerPC based core that runs at 3.2 GHz that also have seven DSPs that run at 3.2 GHz. This configuration can do about 2 Teraflops.

The Xbox 360 has a Custom IBM PowerPC processor. This processor also runs at 3.2 GHz. However, Xbox went with a true 3 core processor compared to the one general processor of the Cell and seven additional DSPs. This configuration can do about 1 Teraflop.

The Nintendo Wii includes its Broadway processor, a PowerPC based processor running at 729 MHz.

Disc Media

Part of the reason the PS3 is so much more expensive than the Xbox 360 is because the Sony decided to include a Blu-ray drive on the system. The drive can play both Blu-ray movies and regular DVDs. The Xbox 360 comes with a DVD player and an HD-DVD add-on is planned. The Nintendo Wii uses a DVD drive; however, the system will not work for playback of movies, just Nintendo games.

Backwards Compatibility

The Playstation 3 is just like the PS2 was. You’ll be able to play both PS2 and PSone games on the PS3. Nintendo is taking things a bit further. Their system will be compatible with the Gamecube games and also the Gamecube controllers since the two systems use very different controllers. Not only that, but the Wii will also have the ability to download games from the original Nintendo (NES), Super Nintendo (SNES), and the Nintendo 64.

Sweet Features

If you want high definition gaming, then the PS3 is the way to go. It comes with a Blu-ray drive built in and can output in 1080p. Although the PS3 controller may look familiar, it’s had some updates. The controller is now motion sensing so in some games you’ll be able to move your character or fly a plane just by moving the controller.

The Xbox 360 was built to work with Windows XP media center. If you have a computer that already has media center on it, you’ll be able to view pictures, videos, and even recorded TV by using your Xbox. You won’t need to put your PC in your living room to take advantage of having a Media Center PC.

The Nintendo Wii decided to completely change the way gaming controllers are built. In the past, one controller was always held with both hands. The Wii’s controller looks more like a TV remote control than a game controller. It has a built in motion sensor so, for example, to swing a sword, you simply move you hand just like you were really swinging a sword.

Hopefully this review has helped you compare the three next generation gaming systems. Each has its pluses and minuses, and feature that are unique to it. Ultimately, your decision will likely come down to which system has the games that most appeal to you. And that is a decision that only you can make when deciding on a system to buy.

Ok I want to leave now,it up to you now which one better for you
