Sony Walkman NW-S205F

It's not an iPod alternatife. It's a sony. And there is difference

I have seen enough copycats to last a lifetime- everyone will say their are different from the rest, butyou just cant help and notice the iPod-ish colours,iPod-inspired designs and so on and so forth

I am glad that absolutely nothing on Sony NW-S2055F Walkman, also know as the S2 Sports Walkman MP3 players, has anything that is even close to the 'i' bandwagon, and it looks bloody good too! What is not refreshing though,is Sony's predilection with model codes instead of just names.Just give us names it easier to remember.

back to the Sony Sport Walkman-its unique sylindrical shape and somewhat odd placement of control buttons may give an initial impression of user-unfreindliness and a maze of nightmarish navigation but, spend some time fidding with the contraption and it's actually very easy to use.A little bit of consultation with the owner's manual may be called for,no need for the cover to cover thing.

it comes with a calorie counter, pedometer (if your only form of exercise is walking from your room to the dinning table, apedometer senses your body motion and counts your footsteps, converting the sum into distance by knowing the length of your usual stride),stopwatch and FM tuner in case you get tired of listening to your pathetic collection of digital tracks, not that there's a big chance of that happening since the this walkman pack 2GB of storage space within its really diminutive dimensions.

Bundled with an arm-strap and a pair or really snug but comfortable earphones,it really is the best companion for exercising. To give you an idea how much I enjoy it,Iam considering increasing my running distance

You can use the bundle software to create playlists,or simply drag and drop files into the player. It;s also immensely quick to recharge - 3 minutes of charging will give you three hours of playback time! There is is also a Shuffle Shake Function- just shake the rurable,aluminium-construction-and-water resistant player three times to turn the shuffle feature on or off

Soundis good enough for me,even by my pick standards.I left all settings as a default and at that level,I would;ve preferred a little more bass bias.Radio reception is consistent but becomes very sensitive to poor signal when indoors. But what would rather listen to-you own favourute tracks or the annoying verbal diarrhoea of today's deejays in addition to ads that play longer than a song?
